- This week is Random Acts of Kindness Week. To kick off our events, we will have Marvel Monday. We ask that all students and staff wear their favorite superhero t-shirts and challenge everyone to at least five good deeds for the day!
- Please consider joining the PTSA. Membership is only $5. Students received membership slips last week. Please fill out the membership form and return with your $5.
- The PTSA fundraiser is still going strong this week. They are selling Mrs. Pumpkin's chicken pies and baked spaghetti. All orders and money are due to the school by this Friday. We challenge all of our students to get those orders in - right now our staff members are in the lead with the most orders placed! There will be prizes for our top selling students.
- Please remember that this Wednesday is an Early Release Day. All students will be dismissed at 12:00pm. Buses will run their normal routes after dismissal. (Schedule)
- Good luck to our basketball teams this week. On Thursday, our 7th grade teams will play at home against Walkertown and our 8th grade teams will travel to Walkertown Middle starting at 3pm. Then on Friday, our 7th grade teams will play at home against Hanes Middle and our 8th grade teams will travel to Hanes. The start time of this game is 3:30, so any students planning to watch the game must leave campus after school and may return at 3:30 for the game.
- Congratulations to all of our students who earned straight A's during the 2nd quarter. We will have our All A's celebrations this Friday morning.
- Please join us on March 5 for our annual Spring Arts Festival. Festival flyers have been sent home with all students this past week. Admission is free. We will have an arts and crafts show, book fair, face painting, art demonstrations, and a visiting author presentation. Join us for a funfilled night of literacy and the arts! Please call the school for more information.

- February 23-27 is SEMS Spirit Week! We will designate a different type of day each day of the week. Staff members may dress casual on these days as long as they participate in that day's activity. In addition, we will have a door decorating contest to show your Jaguar Pride. Doors will be judged by the administration and prizes will be given away for the most creative
- We will have another round of socials this winter for our students. Social dates: 8th grade = February 20, 7th grade = February 27, 6th grade = March 6.
- The Spring Arts Festival will take place on Thursday, March 5. We plan to have music performances, book fair, arts and crafts show, and a visit from a local author.
- The SEMS Book Fair will take place the week of March 2-6.
