Happy New Year!  Welcome back to all of our students and staff! We hope that all of you have had a wonderful winter break with your families.  

The deadline for all PTSA apparel orders is Monday.  If you would like to purchase a t-shirt or sweatshirt, please turn in your order form and payment to the main office by the end of the day on Monday.  Order forms can be picked up in the main office and are also available on the school website. In addition, all apparel designs can be found on the school website. 

6th and 7th grade students will have their Science and Social Studies quarter testing this week. We wish our students the best of luck!  

Inclement weather is possible this week. Please stay tuned to WXII-12, local radio stations, and the WSFCS website for any updates on school delays or cancellations. 

This Friday will be the last day of the second quarter. There will be no school for students on Monday, January 19 and Tuesday, January 20.  Students will return for the third quarter on Wednesday, January 21. 

The magnet school application period has already started and will run through January 23.  If you are interested in more information, please visit the WSFCS homepage for application details.

December Newsletter From Ms Gentry

Basketball tryouts for 7th and 8th grade boys and girls will take place this week.  The girls will try out on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4pm.  The boys will tryout on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4pm. Any 7th or 8th graders wishing to try out must have a signed intramural form and a complete, valid physical form signed by a doctor on file with the school. Good luck to all students trying out!

Our winter Band concert will take place on Monday night at 6pm at Atkins High School.  Our winter Orchestra concert will take place on Tuesday night at 6pm at Atkins High School.

We are still accepting toy and book donations for the holiday toy drive.  Any donations should be dropped off in the main office by Tuesday.

The PTSA will be selling candygrams on Monday and Tuesday during lunches.  Students can pay $1.00 and send a candygram to any student.  All candygrams will be delivered to students on Friday during 6th period.

Our school fundraiser products should arrive early this week. Once they arrive, we will have students bring them home.  We will send out notification to all students and families once the products arrive.  The fundraiser Glow Party and BMX Bike Show will take place this week for students who qualified.  Homebase teachers are reviewing the event list with students.

This Friday will be the last school day before the holiday break.  Southeast Middle School would like to wish everybody and happy and safe holiday season.  The school will be closed from December 20 - January 4.  We will reopen on Monday, January 5.

Please remember that there will be no school for students and staff on Tuesday, November 11, in honor of Veterans' Day.

Report cards will be distributed to students on Wednesday. Letter on grades from WSFCS Schools

Good luck to our volleyball teams. On Wednesday they will travel to Meadowlark for a 3pm match and then on Thursday they will play against East Forsyth Middle at home starting at 3pm.  The cost is $3 to enter. All students staying to watch the game should have their rides on campus by 4:45pm.

Good luck to our Robotics teams. They will compete on Saturday at Flat Rock Middle.

All students received their fundraiser packets last week.  This year we are selling holiday items from the Great American catalog. We encourage all students to participate. This year's prizes include admission to the Glow Party, admission to the BMX Bike Show, a Hummer limo lunch, and even cash! All money should be turned in by November 20.

Sunday Night Announcements (10/26)
  • We will have Reading and Math quarter testing on Monday and Tuesday this week. In addition, our 8th graders will take their Science quarter test on Wednesday during Science classes.

    Cheerleading tryouts will take place Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoons this week.  Tryouts are open to interested 7th and 8th grade students. In order to try out, you must have a signed intramural form and a complete, valid physical form signed by a doctor.

    Good luck to our Cross Country teams. They will compete in the district Cross Country Championships on Tuesday afternoon starting at 4:00 at the Ivey Redmon Complex.

    The Music fundraiser cookie dough pickup will take place on Tuesday from 2-6pm at the school.

    Our next PTSA board meeting will be Tuesday night at 5:30pm at the school. Any parents or guardians are welcome to attend.

    This Thursday will be the last day of the first quarter.  There will be no school for students on Friday.  Congratulations to our students on a successful first quarter of the school year!

Sunday Night Announcements (10/12)

Good luck to our Boys Soccer team. On Tuesday they will travel to WSPA for a 3:30pm match. Then on Thursday they will take on Kernersville at 3pm at Ivey Redmon.

Good luck to our Cross Country teams. On Wednesday they will have a meet at Ivey Redmon starting at 3pm.

Volleyball tryouts will take place on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons this week from 2-4pm.  Any 7th or 8th grade boys and girls wishing to tryout are required to have a signed intramural form and a complete valid physical signed by a doctor.

The PTSA will have their next board meeting on Tuesday night starting at 5:30pm.  Parents and guardians are welcome to attend.

All FCCLA Krispy Kreme orders are due on Monday.  The Krispy Kreme donut delivery will take place on Thursday from 8:30am - 6:00pm.

This week is Student Council Campaign Week! On Friday all of our students will view the candidates' video speeches and will vote for each office.  Winners will be announced next Monday afternoon. Good luck to all of our candidates!

Our 8th graders will have a field trip this Thursday to Reynolds Auditorium.  Also, our 7th grade Lightning Bolts and Cyclones teams will take their field trip to the zoo on Friday.
