Sunday Night Announcements (10/12)

Good luck to our Boys Soccer team. On Tuesday they will travel to WSPA for a 3:30pm match. Then on Thursday they will take on Kernersville at 3pm at Ivey Redmon.

Good luck to our Cross Country teams. On Wednesday they will have a meet at Ivey Redmon starting at 3pm.

Volleyball tryouts will take place on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons this week from 2-4pm.  Any 7th or 8th grade boys and girls wishing to tryout are required to have a signed intramural form and a complete valid physical signed by a doctor.

The PTSA will have their next board meeting on Tuesday night starting at 5:30pm.  Parents and guardians are welcome to attend.

All FCCLA Krispy Kreme orders are due on Monday.  The Krispy Kreme donut delivery will take place on Thursday from 8:30am - 6:00pm.

This week is Student Council Campaign Week! On Friday all of our students will view the candidates' video speeches and will vote for each office.  Winners will be announced next Monday afternoon. Good luck to all of our candidates!

Our 8th graders will have a field trip this Thursday to Reynolds Auditorium.  Also, our 7th grade Lightning Bolts and Cyclones teams will take their field trip to the zoo on Friday.

General Announcements from MS Gentry for this week (day to day schedule below)

• On Wednesday, September 10th,  students received copies of the "Student Technology Agreement and Parent Permission Form".  These "purple" forms must be signed by a parent and returned to students homeroom teacher no later than September 17th.  Here is an electronic copy if the original form is lost: English Form, Spanish Form. Also, here are Resources on Digital Safety  that teachers will be reviewing with students.

Here are the SEMS phone announcements for the week of September 29th:

• Good luck to our Cross Country teams. On Monday they will travel to Wiley to compete starting at 3pm.
• The 7th grade Social will take place this Friday from 2-4pm.  7th grade students wishing to stay for the activities should plan to turn in their money and permission slip to the PE teachers or Mrs. Griffin by this Friday. 
• Good luck to our Boys Soccer team.  On Tuesday they will play against Mineral Springs at 3:30pm at Ivey Redmon. Then on Thursday they will will travel to Hanes for a match starting at 3:30pm. 
• Volleyball intramurals will take place this Tuesday and Thursday from 2-3:30pm.  Students wishing to stay must have a signed intramural form on file. 
• Students, please don't forget that picture day is this Tuesday!
• Please remember that we will have an Early Release Day this Wednesday. We will dismiss school at 12:00pm.  The buses will run at noon on Wednesday. Please be sure that your transportation is taken care of on this day. 
• Calling all who love to read!  The Jaguaar Book Club is enrolling students now for membership.  Please stop by the media center for an enrollment form, due back October 13.  Our first meeting is October 14 from 2:00-3:00 and each 2nd Tuesday of the month.  Join us!

Here are Ms Gentry's phone announcements for the week of September 15:

• All students are reminded to pay their $4.00 WSFCS fee to their homebase teachers.
• Good luck to our boys soccer team. On Thursday they will travel to Clemmons Middle School for a 3:00pm match.
• Volleyball intramurals will take place on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons this week from 2-4pm.  These intramurals are open to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.  Any interested students must turn in a signed intramural form in order to stay after school.  Students should have their rides at the school for pickup at 4pm.  
• On Monday, all 6th grade students who have NOT turned in verification of their TDAP vaccinations will receive a letter. Only students who have not completed this requirement will get this letter. Any student who has not completed the TDAP requirement by September 24 will be suspended from school beginning on September 25.
• PE gym suits have now arrived and are on sale.  Gym suits are an optional purchase.  The cost is $25.00. Students can purchase these items during their PE class period.  
• Calling all who love to read!  The Jaguaar Book Club is enrolling students now for membership.  Please stop by the media center for an enrollment form, due back October 13.  Our first meeting is October 14 from 2:00-3:00 and each 2nd Tuesday of the month.  Join us!
